Mastronardi Produce – Why Work For Us?

Why Mastronardi Produce?

Over 65 years ago, Mastronardi Produce pioneered greenhouse growing in North America, and we’ve been changing the game in fresh produce ever since. Led by our award-winning CEO, Paul Mastronardi, and our passionate pursuit of flavor, we continue to trailblaze new greenhouse technology, sustainability practices, and product innovation. Our legacy of leadership includes an impressive list of firsts, including branding the first tomato, Campari (1999); launching the industry’s first traceability program (2002); introducing the first carbon-negative greenhouse in North America (2008); and receiving the first Non-GMO Project Verification certification in the industry (2010). Our legacy of business excellence has also been recognized with the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed award from Deloitte for 10 years in a row.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the dedication of our team members who are passionate about our mission—inspiring healthy living through WOW flavor experiences. Led by our trailblazing CEO, guided by our PRIDE values (Passion, Respect, Innovation, Drive, Excellence), and invigorated by our energetic work environments and opportunities for advancement, employees are empowered to take daily actions to improve customer service and quality.

Inspired By Flavor™

Throughout four generations of greenhouse growing, our family has been obsessed with one thing: flavor. It is our source of inspiration and our passion. We are here to bring the world’s most interesting flavors to every table.

Innovation is the mother of great new products, and this holds true for greenhouse produce. We’re constantly learning and refining, putting that care and knowledge into every piece of produce we grow. Over the past few years, SUNSET® has launched fantastic new items such as Campari® Brand Tomatoes, the Kumato® Simply Unique BROWN Tomato®, Zima® Seriously Sweet Tomatoes®, ONE SWEET® Line of Tomatoes, Peppers and Cucumbers, Sweet Twister™ Peppers and a whole line of organic tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Mastronardi Produce (Ann Arbor, MI) in February 2016.

The interview was just a casual conversation where the interviewers were more interested in knowing my experience with process improvement. The interviewers told me about the produce industry and told me the challenges that the company was facing in ensuring that their operations kept pace with their ever increasing revenues.
