I have been working at Mather Memorial Hospital part-time (Less than a year)
Great community hospital, lots of new ambulatory procedures being done with the new addition to the hospital. Big hospital status, with the down home feel.
Hard to move up the ladder, they don't really groom people to develop them into roles within the hospital. There is a lot of capacity for refined effectiveness but no realistic way to approach change without burning bridges. The down home feel gets a little bit to close to home sometimes.
Advice to Management
Encourage development of all staff, not just the medical staff. Stand behind your commitment to excellence by embracing changes and progression.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Mather Memorial Hospital (Port Jefferson Station, NY) in April 2011.
Pretty painless overall. The orientation was horrendous and long.
