I have been working at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Maxim Healthcare has given me a wonderful career experience. I started in 2012 as field nurse, able to work one on one with pediatric patients in the home setting. I promoted to a Clinical Supervisor in 2014. I am an integral part of a healthcare team working to provide the best quality care to patients and their families.

    Cons

There are so many patients and families that need services. I wish we could help them all!!

    Interview

I applied for the position online and was contacted less than a week later for a 30 minute phone screening. Following the phone screening I was invited to the office for an in person interview which lasted about an hour and a half. Most of the questions were used to gauge personality and fit for the position /ability to work in a team. Following the in person interview I was invited back for a "pit sit" or shadow day. During the pit sit I got to meet the employees in the office and see the recruiters day to day tasks up close. The pit sit gave a good understanding of the job and helped me decide if it was something I'd be interested in. After the pit sit I was asked to come back and do a final interview with the regional manager where I was asked some more formal questions to double check my fit for the position. I felt like I could contact anyone with questions along the way, they made the process smooth and pleasant!

Company Updates

  • For the past three years, DJ Elvers, LVN has shared her passion, knowledge, and experiences with all of us on DJ’s Dish. We’ve been fortunate to get an idea of what it’s like to be a nurse, while hearing some heartwarming stories along the way. Today we share the final Dish. Thank you for all you’ve done, DJ. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQyyX

Check Out the Final DJ's Dish

DJ thanks you for letting her share her passion for caregiving the past three years. She will remain on the caregiving advisory board and will continue to work with her patient, Jackson, who makes a special appearance in the video. She reminds us that Maxim caregivers are the face, the smile, the hand, the heart, and the soul of Maxim.

  • "Respect is at the heart of the healing professions. We measure ourselves against the sacred and noble nature of our work. A diverse workforce helps make this possible, because we learn how to show love and respect for others by hearing their stories and understanding the way they view the world." http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQyit

Commentary: How diversity and inclusion lead to better health care

From my earliest days as a pediatric critical care physician, every time a frightened mother or father entrusted me with the care of their sick or injured child, I was reminded of the sacred nature of the relationship between caregivers and our patients.
