Advice to Management
There are rabble rousers within the Firm that need to be dealt with more adequately. They create problems where there are none and can lead to employee morale issues. Even looking at reviews here, it is clear to see who the disgruntled employees, and former employees, are. It doesn't take much to figure it out.
Like any organization M&E has it's good and bad points, but, in this author's opinion, the good far outweigh the bad. From an administrative perspective I have been satisfied with the management provided. Opportunities to learn and advance are always welcomed and, while the workload can be demanding, there are a lot of advantages as well (flex hours, etc.) The Firm does go out of its way to let staff know they are appreciated (excellent vacation time, a good number of paid holidays compared to my counterparts at other firms, employee appreciation day, ice cream socials, holiday parties, etc.) Some gripe about recent management changes, that's always going to be the case, but I for one have seen an improvement in morale and productivity since the changes have occurred. I believe some are not happy because previous (low) performance and (poor) behavior is no longer accepted.
M&E is a good place to be, you will not dread going to work every day.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at McCarter.
Interview was part of the on campus recruiting process. There were two rounds. The first was on campus. The second was a series of individual interviews at the firm. The interviewing attorneys were all very welcoming and professional. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. Having dealt with the firm since, that appears to be consistent with their culture.
