I chose McLane instead of continuing my career in Boston because I was sick of the commute and 2000-hour billable requirement. McLane has a realistic billable requirement, the people are great, and the work is complex. Firm culture encourages collaboration across all offices and practice areas, and spending time away from the office.
The workload can get heavy when there is inadequate communication about availability to take on work. Like anywhere, some people are better than others at this. It is manageable though because you can take time off when it slows down.
Initial phone interview followed by multi-person callback. It seemed like they forgot about me halfway through the interview and left me with one attorney for almost 30 minutes. The callback interview was extremely drawn out, and I was disappointed I didn't get an offer because it felt like I was ushered around the office needlessly
