MedTouch – Why Work With Us?

At MedTouch, our mission is to discover potential and deliver results for every client, every colleague, every day. We’re constantly adapting and applying new skills and knowledge, and we’re seeking candidates who resonate with this philosophy.

Our values center around celebrating and empowering individuals. We strive to create an engaging, transparent, and exciting workplace that is uniquely MedTouch. We collaborate between our offices in Somerville, Massachusetts and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our flexible culture is a balance of personality and professionalism – we have fun working together in our casual office space, but bring our A-game to work every day.

MedTouch provides digital strategy and consumer-facing web design and development for the best brands in healthcare. Our unique focus on hospitals, health systems, and health plans is both a strategic advantage and passion for us.

Creatively, MedTouch operates digital strategy, UX, content strategy, content writing, organic search, and PPC practices.  On the technical side, we provide a number of web-based solutions, including having established ourselves as Sitecore’s leading partner in the healthcare vertical.

We’re growing in recognition and market share, yet we’re still small enough that each employee has an opportunity to impact the trajectory and direction of our company. This combination makes MedTouch an exciting place to work!

  • Know the Mission
  • Help Others Succeed
  • Done Means Done
  • Take Initiative
  • Celebrate People

We devise digital strategy that drives patient and member acquisition for our clients, taking the best marketing insights and practices and applying them to healthcare.

Strategy disciplines include:

  • Integrated Digital Strategy: Planning, advisement, and ongoing strategic initiatives
  • Enterprise Content Management: Sitecore Platinum Implementation Partner
  • UX +Responsive Design: Wireframes, IA, user research, responsive, and experience design
  • Service Line Marketing: Digital strategies to drive patient and member volume
  • Content Strategy + Marketing: Content audits, creation, migration, blog, e-newsletters, and social programs
  • Search + Analytics: Campaigns, SEO, and analytics

MedTouch focuses on Sitecore and Drupal as its technical base. Our emphasis on these two CMS products affords us a unique position in the market. We're sought after for our depth, not just breadth, of knowledge.

MedTouch has been able to attract a wide range of senior talent because of our unique focus: we build re-usable toolsets on top of Sitecore.  This means no more typing the same project out for a different client -- we retain our good ideas and build on our toolset for the next project.

I have been working at MedTouch full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

1.) Work-life balance. I've worked at several places but MedTouch is the only one where I actually see this balance not only tolerated but encouraged and celebrated. Lots of flexibility with start/end time each day, lunch time/length, WFH, etc. There's no shame involved with taking days off, whether sick or vacation, and no expectation to actually be online those times. I know that sounds like a low bar, but it's made my experience here wonderful compared to other companies.
2.) Challenging, meaningful work. The work we do has obvious, direct impacts in healthcare. I've also felt MedTouch is proactive in ensuring employees have the tools they need to succeed. I've run into an issue or two on occasion that I would consider extremely minor and non-urgent that, after I raised, was resolved within hours. And I'm one of the lowest people on the totem pole! It's apparent they really do want you to succeed.
3.) Awesome people to work with. Everyone is incredibly smart, kind, welcoming, and funny. I don't work a lot with the senior leadership, but I don't get the impression that there's a lot of ego, nor do I get the impression that others feel that way. It's overall just a really positive, supportive environment.
    4.) Perks/the little stuff:
-the Assembly office and the surrounding area is lovely (we get discounts at most shops as an Assembly employee)
-free snacks of all sorts along with free beer, kombucha, and cold brew (all on tap) in the kitchen
-casual dress code (and again, they actually mean it!)
    -standing desks, treadmill desk
-lots of employee happiness events/initiatives; Halloween party and competitions with prizes, an annual week devoted to celebrating employees with dress-up days and activities, lunch and learns, so much more
    -4% 401k match
    - a Slack channel devoted to pictures of cute dogs spotted near the office
    -a lot more I'm sure I'm forgetting!

    Cons

-Open office layout (con for some, pro for others)
-Could be difficult for someone coming from a more corporate environment
-Some minor growing pains that are standard for any growing company; shuffling of accounts/projects as people leave and others are hired, etc.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MedTouch (Somerville, MA).

    Interview

The interview process consisted of two phone interviews, a written case study, an in-person interview where I met 1:1 with four people for 30 min each, and an in-person presentation to a panel of 5-6 people. The interview coordinator worked very closely with me to make schedules work and move through the process quickly. I found everyone at MedTouch to be highly communicative about the process and available for questions.
