I worked at Medarex full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great culture, the people were wonderful to work with. Small company, which gave it a family-like atmosphere. Nice stock option incentives.

    Cons

Salaries on the low side compared to the rest of NJ. Management tended to be a bit too degree-focused. Not a lot of promotion from within.

    Advice to Management

Focus attempts to promote from within in order to empower employees. No one knows your products better than current employees, thus there is less of a learning curve than when managers are brought in from outside.

    Interview

Interview process was straightforward and professional. Seminar went well, individual discussions were friendly and productive. Final salary was less than expected, as well as the stock options.
