I have been working at Media General full-time (More than 10 years)

Great coworkers. No micromanagement. Great benefits. One of the first hub facilities in the country. Company Kitchen break room with free coffee and hot chocolate.

No chance of advancement. Like most master control positions the only thing to hope for might be an occasional supervisor opening with time. That comes with it on set of problems. Not for everyone.

    Average Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at Media General (Raleigh, NC) in September 2015.

They started with a tour of the entire news station then an introduction to the staff and reporters, then a 1 on 1 interview with the Director of Operations who was very pleasing but firm in exactly what they were looking for. The first thing mentioned was this would not turn into a position with the station, simply to learn the in's and outs of media production. The questions were straight and to the point. Where would I like to work in production, how much experience do I already have, how would I be an asset to the company. In all it took about an hour.

    Interview Questions

    • Where exactly would I like to work in production.   1 Answer

Only the time I would be able to come in and the hours I could commit to.
