I have been working at Medical Mutual full-time (More than 3 years)
While most insurance companies are for-profit, I am proud to work for a company that is not. As a mutual, we are in it with our customer, community and employees. We even have a formal program that rewards us for doing business with our customers.
There can be some red tape to get a decision made and then put into action. We should be able to be more nimble than our for-profit competition because we aren't publicly held.
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Medical Mutual (Strongsville, OH) in October 2015.
It was good. Usual for the skills required. The process was fair but the role offered was kind of fishy. They were not clear on what the responsibilities will be. Noone will join if the responsibilities are not as per the industry standard for the title. In my case since I had some history of working with this company as a contractor, there was HR screening, face to face with the hiring manager and later with the entire team.
