This year Meijer continues its annual holiday tradition with the Shop with a Hero program. More than 100 participating stores will pair underprivileged children with local area heroes to shop for holiday gifts for themselves and family.
More than 3,500 children will shop with local police officers, firefighters and veterans. Participants are also treated to pizza parties, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus or food baskets.
Meijer donated over $200,000 in gift cards to the program, making the holiday season a little brighter for children and families across the region.
Meijer partnered with Make-A-Wish® Michigan on Giving Tuesday to donate 10 toy baskets to children with life-threatening medical conditions. The surprise gift baskets were themed by toy brand including Nerf, Star Wars, Hot Wheels, Lego, Barbie and Disney Princess. Representatives from Meijer and Make-A-Wish® hand delivered four of the 10 baskets to wish kids in Detroit and Roseville. Gift cards were also donated to the children’s parents.
Meijer has proudly supported Make-A-Wish® Michigan for 25 years and looks forward to continuing the tradition for many more years to come.

I applied online. I interviewed at Meijer.
There is a two part interview process. First, your team lead (a manager of the department you applied for) will interview you. It's very casual and they ask personal questions and about past experience. Then, if they are satisfied with your answers, they'll move you on to the line leader, who is the head of the department. They essentially ask the same things. Nerves shouldn't get you. It's not a life or death interview unless you make it one.
