    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Merritt Woodwork full-time

Great relaxed work environment, but tight deadlines in the retail industry provide challenge. Hours are wonderful, from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Over time paid at time and half is generally available.

Benefits could be better: my main concerns are health insurance and vacation. Being fairly new to the retail industry as a company I find the short turn around times cause some panic, and panic causes confusions. It requires a lot of patience and learning to be prepared to give account for your decisions during the drawing process.

    Advice to Management

Systematically organize all the resources available to the drafting department. Organize hardware offering and standard usage. Get the entire team to draw consistently by implementing firmer drafting standards. It is a great company and job, but we need a single vision of process and best practices to follow.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Merritt Woodwork (Mentor, OH) in March 2009.

I don't remember it was 3 years ago, I do remember it was the most uncomfortable process i ever went through to get a job.
