    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Meso Scale Discovery (Rockville, MD) in September 2016.

    Interview

I have never been treated more disrespectfully during an interview than I was when I interviewed at MSD. During the phone screens, HR and the hiring manager seemed very interested. I had viewed the overwhelmingly negative GlassDoor reviews from MSD, but I decided to interview anyway.

On the day of the interview, it was clear from the time that I walked through MSD's doorway that I was not welcomed. My lunch was literally thrown at me in a paper bag lunch where I ate alone as the interviewer had already eaten his lunch. This is the only interview I have ever had in which I should have walked out! I was disappointed in myself for not doing so. It taught me a huge lesson regarding welcoming any candidate that interviews at my current company. Simply put....show some grace in your behavior when you are interviewing a candidate that you invited!

Also, one of the women that interviewed me had been with MSD for almost a decade, had made significant contributions to the org, and was clearly qualified for the role in which I was interviewing.
