I have been working at Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Comparable Pay to other counties
Ample Professional Development (stipend paid for most sessions)
Good Leadership in the county as a whole
    Positive working environment

    Cons

Some schools are run by people who are not qualified
    Students change schools quite often
Lack of support for general ed teachers in non-tested areas

    Advice to Management

Be sure that all students are being held to the same standards and that they are actually being prepared for college/workforce. Not allowing students to fail does not prepare them for the real world.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

    Interview

Telephone interview with HR Manager was about 20 minutes in length. I went to meet with the Principal and tour the school. After our 30 minutes interview, I was told I would receive a call if hired. The questions were fairly easy and also highlighted what growth I may see myself doing in this position.
