Mission: To provide superior service while assisting members and employees to achieve financial security, their goals, and ultimately, their dreams.

Michigan State University Federal Credit Union – Why Work For Us?

Superior Service

Founded in 1937, MSUFCU is owned and operated by members of the Michigan State University and Oakland University communities. We offer financial services to MSU and OU faculty, staff, students, alumni association members, and their families as well as a variety of select employee groups.

Encouraging Growth

We have partnered with OU for nearly 60 years, and over that time, our commitment has grown to include 2 branches and multiple ATM locations, on and around OU's campus. In 2013, MSUFCU created Oakland University Credit Union, a trade name of MSUFCU.
Eaton County Educational Credit Union (ECECU) merged with MSUFCU in 2013, extending the Credit Union's membership by 4,000 employees and pensioners of educational institutions and individuals, who live, work, worship, and go to school in Eaton County.

Driving Change

In 2016, MSUFCU expanded its presence in Oakland County through a merger with Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union (CBCCU), adding approximately 8,500 members who live, work, worship, and go to school in Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, and Oakland counties.

Giving Back

Giving back to our community is one of MSUFCU's core values and part of the "people helping people" philosophy on which credit unions were founded. At MSUFCU, we are committed to making a positive impact on as many people as possible and investing in our community to help create a place where people are proud to live, work, and visit.
Working at Michigan State University Federal Credit Union isn't just a job;  it can be a lifelong career. Just ask our President and CEO, April Clobes,  who started her journey at the Credit Union as a Marketing Specialist.
Whether you're assisting members at a branch, by phone in our Call  Center, or programming our systems in our Information Technology  department (or any of our more than 25 departments), you're part of an  award-winning team that works together to make a difference in the life of every MSUFCU member. Your interests and skills can make a huge contribution to MSUFCU and the community.
Every employee MSUFCU plays an integral part in the story of the credit union. Not only do we want to see employees succeed in their jobs by helping members, we want to help them meet their evolving career goals. We invest heavily in different training options to develop employees, including self-enrichment courses, leadership, and management options.

You'll be challenged find the right financial options to meet a member's needs. Whether they're looking for a mortgage, auto loan, or a savings account, you'll work with members to help them achieve their dreams. If you're in one of our many departments that don't work directly with members, you'll have those same challenges - to find creative solutions to make things easier for fellow employees, members, or the community in general.

We know that when our employees feel secure at the credit union, it makes it easier for them to provide superior service to our membership. That's why we offer generous benefits to our employees.

    Pros

People want to learn and grow and work together. There are no lead anchors that hate being here. Very positive environment. Easy to talk to management including C levels. Great benefits and fair compensation. Very protective and supportive of employees.

    Cons

Not the place for folks who don't thrive on smiling and being kind and gentle. No work from home for IT dept.

    Advice to Management

Keep up on the culture and continue the momentum toward improved processes.
