    I worked at Microsystems (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great leadership (not just 'management'-ship). Transparent, VERY hardworking CEO with a strong technical background who champions all functions of the business and adds a little bit extra to the Development team (which makes sense since they are a software vendor at their core, however not all companies do this right..).

    Even when sales predictions were not met, CEO fought very hard for employee bonuses. GREAT company to work for. I have been on the Client Services side and Development side, fantastic leadership all around.

    Very experienced, sharp Development leadership team overall.

    Cons

    Difficulties aligning marketing and sales strategies. Investing into other verticals seems to be going too slow.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work and keep allowing teams to self-form, and make their own decisions on how to attain a shared goal. Keep hiring people who are smart and gets things done. Avoid the 'nine to five' 'Dilbert' employees who are just in it for the paycheck but don't want to take responsibility in continuously improving themselves, their teammates, the whole organization...

    Should let individuals take more (calculated) risks and have a higher tolerance for failure (but not repeated failure obviously).
