I have been working at Midland States Bank full-time (Less than a year)

They care about their employees, their customers, and the culture. They don't just say they care the actually SHOW IT! They pay well in the commercial department, I can't speak to the retail or other departments. They are involved in the community. They don't make doing business HARD for our customers like some BIG banks, which makes my job much more enjoyable. AWESOME team work! I have not met anyone who isn't willing to help me to the best of their ability. I can honestly say I LOVE MY JOB and the company I work for. I haven't said that in at least 15 years.

My position didn't have much training. It was something I knew coming in and something they are working on, it hasn't been a huge issue because I they have created an amazing support system.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing! The fact that you put so much effort into building the culture says so much you care! I have worked at other banks who talk the talk but don't walk the walk! And thank you for making it easy for us to take care of the customers.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Midland States Bank (Effingham, IL) in May 2016.

I initially started as an intern before being hired on full-time. The first two steps of the interview process consisted of a phone call and written assessment to test my technical and creative writing skills. The phone call with HR was very informative about the role and Midland States Bank as a whole. The call asked questions about my goals and experience to see if I would fit with the company's culture, and vice versa. A face-to-face interview with the marketing manger and director followed, which consisted of questions about my past work experience, work ethic, and ability to work with a diverse team with diverse responsibilities.
