    Pros

Teacher training, mentoring, resource & IT support, & professional development are in place for a smooth start for beginning teachers & throughout teaching career.

    Cons

Workload in terms of time, effort, & energy, & performance expectations of both teachers & students are haphazard, unrealistic, unkind, & highly stressful. Most of the work for teachers & students are repetitive & redundant. Workshops, seminars, conferences, & activities are for showing & need not turn ineffective teachers to super stars. Basic common sense lacks at various levels.

    Advice to Management

Brevity is the art of speech & make sense with quality over quantity.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a week. I interviewed at Ministry of Education Singapore (China, ME) in June 2012.

    Interview

Questions about personal details are being asked, as well as general questions like why do you come to Singapore and what do you expect to see in Singapore. The questions were not hard and the interviewers were generally friendly. There were 4 people interviewing and one in charge of asking the questions others are sitting there and taking note or observing.
