Mission: To preserve, restore, and enhance vision through research, teaching, and providing the highest quality medical and surgical care to patients.
I have been working at Minnesota Eye Consultants full-time (More than 10 years)
The team members at MN Eye are by far my favorite part of working here. My manager (and previous managers) have really invested in me as an employee, and helped me transition to different departments when a desire for change was present. I feel that people here work really hard, but are just fun to be around as well. Working in healthcare is challenging at times, but thankfully, rewarding on a daily basis. It helps to have people around you that you truly enjoy being with when those challenges arise, and I think everyone is good about working together as a team to come up with the right solution. I've learned an incredible amount about healthcare and ophthalmology in general since starting here over 10 years ago, and am grateful for the opportunity to evolve with this company.
We've gone through changes recently, but every company undergoes that at some point. Although change isn't always easy, many of the changes have been positive. What I appreciate is that process changes are continuously monitored to ensure the right decision was made and that the change made the work flow or process more efficient/effective.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Minnesota Eye Consultants (Bloomington, MN) in May 2018.
Phone interview followed by in person interview. The hiring manager and HR were full of themselves and came off snobby. Did not fully answer questions asked (about turn over rate and how they were going to address it) Follow up call with offer however unwilling to negotiate.
A historical moment occurred a few weeks ago at Minnesota Eye Consultants as Dr. Thomas Samuelson performed the first iStent inject® procedure in the US! The iStent inject was recently approved by the FDA for patients with mild-to-moderate primary open-angle glaucoma and is considered the world’s smallest known medical implant. Minnesota Eye Consultants is excited to have played a part in both the investigative and implementation process of this device.
