I worked at Mithun full-time (More than 3 years)
Interesting projects, strong design quality, great firm staff culture, reasonable comp time policy for overtime, very good continuing education program, beautiful waterfront location, sustainable practices, incorporates research and case studies in work, open to innovative ideas, interdisciplinary design approach is exciting
Top heavy, favoritism, lack of transparency, lacks diversity / equitable opportunity, big egos, reputation supersedes experience, policies doesn't align with advocated practice (lacks integrity), different principals have very different values/approaches making it nearly impossible for staff to be successful, very demanding project schedules and clients
Advice to Management
Be inclusive, provide opportunities to expand the skills of staff to applied projects and endeavors, respect contributions of staff, develop consistent management approaches
I applied online. I interviewed at Mithun (Seattle, WA) in April 2017.
It was very simple and used Zoom for video interview. And It took about an hour to talk about previous experience and other questions. There were 4 people in the meeting.
