  • Molina Healthcare recently sponsored a panel event for national Make a Difference day with Claflin University's Minority Association of Pre-Med Students. David Irizarry, Community Engagement Specialist, shared some heartfelt career advice with the students: "Prepare yourself to lead a transformation that leaves a permanent impact for generations to come. Fall in love with whatever you do and approach it with passion from within and the rest will fall into place."

    Health students told they can 'make a difference'

    Claflin University celebrated national Make A Difference Day on Oct. 20 with more than 300 students from the Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5 High School of Health Professions. The students heard from a panel of local health care providers, with panelists discussing issues and the myriad of career opportunities in the health care industry.

  • Molina Healthcare announced the kick-off of its second annual Molina HOPE coat drive in Michigan to help children and adults in need. During the nine-week drive, which began Monday, Molina and its partners will collect new coats at numerous drop-off sites across the state, with the goal of collecting 7,000 child and adult-sized coats prior to the conclusion of the drive on Monday, Nov. 27.

Our story is about being a family

The Molina Healthcare story is about one man’s belief that when it comes to health care everyone should be treated like family.

It was in 1980 when as an emergency room physician, C. David Molina, MD, noticed that low-income, uninsured or non-English speaking patients were coming to the emergency room in need of general health care services. Without family doctors, they were not always getting the right care and information. These underserved families deserved better and Dr. Molina set out to do something about it.

He opened a clinic in Long Beach, California to provide low-income individuals and families with a place to go to get personalized health care from Molina doctors. Two more clinics opened that same year and today our health plans and clinics serve patients across the country.

    The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Molina Healthcare.


    As an internal candidate who has been with the company for over 5 years I expected to be treated with a little more respect. I met the job requirements and description for a posted Program Manager position. A recruiter follow led up with me but instead of calling he sent me a list of “questions” to answer. I use quotations because the list was the bulleted items from the job description with question marks added at the end. I spent a few hours in the evening after work that same day responding and sent it back to him. I did not hear back. I followed up with him a few days later asking him to confirm he received my answers and received a short response that he had forwarded to the hiring manager. I didn’t hear anything from him for several weeks so I initiated follow up with him. He responded in all caps that the job was on hold. He never followed up and when I reached back out to him regarding the job status he replied with a non answer basically indicating he didn’t know what position I was talking about even though the req number and our correspondence were all in the same chain.
