I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Monetate (New York, NY) in Jul 2019

I was contacted by a recruiter who connected me with a manager located in their London office. Had an overall pleasant experience due to the open communication channel the Manager in London maintained throughout, except that it was an extremely demanding process for the role and the company. At the very end they stopped responding after I had gone through a very demanding process with them and interviewed with 6 people.

Started with a 1:1 phone interview, then I was told the role is no longer available but I could continue as long as I was comfortable knowing that the condition under which I would be hired is if I proved I was worthy of additional budget. I appreciated the honesty but it seemed unprofessional and spoke to the level of maturity of the company. When I volunteered to continue, I was given a take-home exercise on a very interesting case that I really enjoyed doing. I put together a presentation which my main contact asked me to present, and then provided minor feedback to prep me for the larger presentation in person at Conshohocken. I drove there on a very tight schedule and presented to a group for an hour, and had to meet 5 people back to back who asked me the same questions over and over. There was no HR person involved in the whole process, so when I arrived I had to go and ask people myself about who I can speak with regarding my interview. The office was dark and didn't seem like a nice environment to work in.

The people I met were very nice and smart but I left under the impression that this is a poorly run company that wants to advertise themselves to employees as a start-up - but they are a regular small business trying to grow among many competitors.
