Mission: Lead.... Never Follow
I worked at Monster Inc (More than a year)
Exciting products, casual work environment, occasional celebrity visits, lots of young energetic people, you get to see the owner spend lots of money buying exotic cars, rather than keep crucial employees, which makes it fun and interesting to try and keep up with the additional work load. The "President" is a Sales person who has no clue about other aspects of running a business.
The owner is an incredibly rude and arrogant tyrant who should have retired. Instead, he makes outrageous time demands - often announcing Mandatory meetings at the end of the day, making everyone change plans, then he stands you up after waiting for HOURS. Operations Mgmt - Finance, Product Mgmt., Procurement, have people who have been promoted based on which clique they belong to, rather than merit.
Advice to Management
Promoting kids right out of school to Director level jobs is a bad plan.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Monster Inc.
Phone screen, then in person interview. Process was very similar to a lot of preview interviews. I got a callback within 2 weeks and received an offer and chose to take the offer.
