I worked at Montpelier TR full-time
Working at MReTR was really a great experience. TR was a company based in the US (Woburn, MA) that supported the ReInsurance businesses in Bermuda and London. Colleagues were great to work with - very helpful and innovative. Management was generally supportive and HR was great. It was a small enough company to feel like you knew everyone and your contributions had an effect. The culture was appropriately relaxed and also formal - as required.
They were bought in 2015 by a much larger Insurance company that had a different culture and objective. When they were bought by John Charman (Endurance Specialty Holdings) - it was a very different place.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Montpelier TR (Woburn, MA) in February 2010.
Phone interview, with many technical questions. Specific answers were sought. Interviewer was very intelligent.
In-person interview met with several project managers, then technical lead and other developers. Technical questions that were asked were mostly reasonable, except for one. ("Find the problem with this code snippet."...After reviewing the code snippet after the interview, there was not problem with it that the compiler or I could find.)
