I have been working at Morris full-time (More than 3 years)
This is not your "old-school" news paper company. This is a company responding to the unique local business needs and trends in each of the markets Morris operates in. It is interesting and challenging work. Never worked in the Newspaper Industry before and find the focus on local business growth very rewarding. People helping people succeed. Hired to help create change.
The corporate environment can be a bit daunting and slow things down due to excising processes.
Advice to Management
Work on creating a more flexible work environment with the millennials in mind.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Morris (Augusta, GA) in March 2017.
First you have to have an initial phone call, then an hour long behavioral assessment. If you pass that then you have to do a video interview that includes a 5 minute presentation and then a lot of other behavioral type interview questions. Lasts about 45 minutes. Then if they like you, you will get a call back to go in for a face-to-face interview. After that I was told I would be contacted within a week and never heard anything back.
