I worked at Mount Vernon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Historic, Family-oriented, Patriotic, always busy 364 days a year, hundreds of classy professionals employed here at George & Martha Washington's 18th Century Home and 600-acre estate overlooking the Potomac River near Washington DC. A hidden historical oasis to take you back in time each day at work.

    Cons

if you don't like to wear 18th century period costumes, consider several hundred other positions on the estate

    Advice to Management

All monetary change from the gift shops, restaurant, cafe and ticket window should be given only in crisp $1 bills or shiny new Quarters, each featuring President Washington's famous visage.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mount Vernon (Washington, DC) in March 2017.

    Interview

30 minute phone interview. Asked questions specific to my resume and essays. The interviewers were very kind and personable. The interview was very easy and I felt welcomed by their tone and obvious interest in what I wanted to contribute to the company.
