The enthusiasm here for history and all things George Washington is infectious. I love being able to take a walk on the grounds to visit the animals or check out the latest exhibit on a break when I need to get away from the computer. We have employees who stay here their entire careers due to the uniqueness of Mount Vernon and opportunities for growth. I enjoy the many faces that create the Mount Vernon experience!

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA) in August 2016.
I met with the Director of Public Relations and the VP of Marketing. The interview lasted for about an hour, and they mostly asked me questions about the contents of my resume and my experience. They only asked a few questions that seemed directly related to the job - there was a heavy emphasis on social media managing. It's been two weeks since my interview and it took them two weeks after initial contact to even schedule the interview.
