I worked at Mount Vernon full-time (Less than a year)

People, hours, multiple breaks and an hour lunch, good training, friendly and comfortable environment, free admission to the grounds while an employee

A couple customers were rude, large tour groups, cashiering became a bit mundane at times, not very challenging

    Operations Assistant Interview

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Mount Vernon (Mount Vernon, VA) in March 2015.

I met with the office manager. We discussed the position responsibilities, expectations and general information regarding Mount Vernon, team structure, and how the operations department worked. The interview process was approximately two to three hours in length. The interview process took approximately one week, communicating by email and answering a few questions to prepare for the face to face interview. The people that I met and interviewed with were extremely friendly and welcoming, and it was a casual and comfortable environment. It was a very positive experience since this was the first interview I have had in quite a number of years. They set my mind at ease so that I could get back into the job interview mode. I did not receive an offer for the position which was okay, it was still a very positive experience and I learned a lot about Mount Vernon in the process.
