Mission: To help people do better marketing, and to make the world a more TAGFEE place.

Moz – Why Work With Us?

Moz develops inbound marketing software, provides robust APIs for link data and social influence, and hosts the web's most vibrant community of online marketers. Here at Moz, we believe in better marketing: optimizing your site so it can be found on the web, being responsive through social media, joining relevant conversations about your industry, and creating content that people love. We build tools like Moz Analytics and create educational resources to help make better marketing possible for everyone.

Moz started up in 2004, and we’ve been on an epic ride ever since. From our beginnings as an SEO consulting company to launching the first Pro app in 2007, we’ve tried to stay true to our core beliefs—TAGFEE—and to deliver an exceptional experience for our community and subscribers. We owe a huge thanks to our community for joining us on this awesome journey, and we hope that you’ll continue to be a part of our story.

One of the things we’re most proud of and thankful for is our awesome community of marketing professionals. What started out as a handful of folks who were interested in being on the cutting edge of SEO has since grown into a vibrant community of hundreds of thousands of marketers. Moz community members come from all different backgrounds, from all over the world. Our community has been with us since the beginning, and is what drives us to build the best marketing analytics software out there.

When you work at Moz, you’re not just joining a team of brilliant minds, you’re also joining our family of passionate marketers. You’ll get the chance to interact with our community at conferences and events all over the world, as well as our own events, MozCon, and international Mozcations.

We believe in TAGFEE—being as Transparent, Authentic, Generous, Fun, Empathetic, and Exceptional as possible. It guides all aspects of the company, from how we create our software and communicate with each other, to the level of service we give to our subscribers and community members. Our culture isn't just about Nerf gun fights and company parties (though we have those too!)—we're a diverse, passionate bunch who believe in upholding these principles, and have created a truly exceptional work environment as a result. I have been working at Moz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love the fast pace and how much we're focused on results -- we get a lot done, really quickly!

We meet weekly in front of a "Scrum of Scrums" board for a stand-up style review of every major project the company is working on across all teams, and they're identified by their alignment with our strategic growth priorities and have measurable goals.

It's a great way to see how fast we're moving as a company, and how the projects we're working on are having an impact. I like being able to see the work of not just my team but also other teams across the company.

There has been a ton of focus on the major core product this year, and the results are really exciting -- new features launching nearly every month, and more customers coming every week. I love being on this team!

    Cons

Some teams say they need more people to get everything done that they need to do on time. My team works really hard, and yes, sometimes we put in extra long hours to get something out the door, but it's worth it. Most of the time the hours are pretty normal.

I haven't worked at any tech company where the teams don't want more people, so maybe my perspective is different. People seem to have great work-life balance, and we are accomplishing a lot this year, so maybe it's not as bad as some people think.

    Advice to Management

I love how you're so focused on making sure everyone is doing work that matters. I heard it wasn't always like that here -- please keep it up!
