We’re changing health care for the better.
MultiCare has a long history of innovation. We’re passionate about making health care more affordable and easier to access. That’s something you can be proud of.
Over the past decade, we’ve transformed ourselves from a local health care provider into the largest community-based, locally governed health system in the state of Washington. Today, we have our 18,000 employees (and counting).
We invest in people, not profits.
Strong financial stewardship allows us to invest in new facilities, new programs and our employees. This year, we’ll invest more than $2 million in tuition reimbursement and continuing education programs.
We’ll give you options.
At MultiCare, you can choose the schedule, specialty and location that works best for you. As your needs and interests change, you can apply for transfers across our system.
At MultiCare, our values serve as our guiding principles and impact every aspect of our organization, including how we provide patient care and what we expect from each other. Every decision at MultiCare will be made through the prism of our values.
We affirm the dignity of each person and treat each individual with care and compassion
We speak and act honestly to build trust
We develop, use and preserve our resources for the benefit of our customers and community
We hold ourselves accountable to excel in quality of care, personal competence and operational performance
We work together recognizing that the power of our combined efforts will exceed what we can accomplish individually
We always treat everyone we come into contact with as we would want to be treated
At MultiCare, we are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the community we serve. Fostering a diverse workforce benefits both employees and patients by offering an inclusive place to provide and receive care. While we come from different backgrounds and experiences, we all contribute to MultiCare’s mission of partnering for healing and a healthy future.
Careers for Veterans
MultiCare is proud to employ over 1,000 veterans in clinical, non-clinical and leadership roles across our organization. We value the skills, experience and work ethic our military veterans bring to our workforce.
LGBTQA Core Competency Training
To ensure our care reflects the needs of the LGBTQA community, we partnered with the Rainbow Center to develop LGBTQA Core Competency Training for all MultiCare staff. We have also partnered in the past with the Oasis Youth Center and the Susan G. Komen Foundation to offer LGBTQA Youth Core Competency and LGBTQ Breast Health Cultural Sensitivity trainings to staff.
Cultural Competency Training
Throughout the year, we educate our employees on how to deliver care or support services in ways that reflect the individual needs, preferences and customs of each patient. Training covers a variety of topics including health disparities, biases and cross-cultural communication.
MultiCare sponsors several initiatives designed to promote diversity and inclusion such as Nurse Camp, Center for Health Equity and Wellness, and our Qualified Bilingual Staff Program. We are committed to addressing health disparities in the community to improve health outcomes. Learn more on our website
Our pay and benefits reflect the diverse needs of our employees—from new grads with school loans, to working parents, to "empty nesters" just a few years from retirement.
We frequently monitor local, regional, and national pay practices to ensure our pay remains competitive. Starting pay rates for new employees are based on relevant experience and, in some cases, education or certifications.

I have been working at MultiCare Health System part-time (Less than a year)
Wonderful team, everyone makes it a great place to work, decent pay and flexible schedule.
Can't think of any honestly
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at MultiCare Health System (San Mateo, CA) in February 2020.
Initially saw job posting on indeed. Applied directly on their website. ~2 weeks later, received email from HR stating that they forwarded my app to department managers. ~2 weeks later, received call to schedule an interview. Flew up and interviewed with panel.
