    Pros

Awesome team of people to work for...and with. Met some lifelong friends in the short time I was there. They apparently know what they are doing when it comes to hiring staff, as everyone there is brilliant, and an expert in their field. The people make the company. Their commitment to safety rivals the best.

    Cons

Traffic in Houston is a beast, but if you're in O&G, get used to it. As with every O&G operator, the business is ruthless and cutthroat.

    Advice to Management

I wish that I had some constructive criticism. Honestly, I felt the organizational structure was clear and transparent. It was intuitive to know who to take a problem to. All levels of management appeared very approachable.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Murphy Exploration & Production International (Houston, TX) in December 2012.

    Interview

Meet with HR reps, a manager and a potential colleague. Atmosphere was very friendly. Almost felt like they were just going through the motions. HR explained the benefits package andagreed vacation days.

    Interview Questions

    • How would I interact with the team. What would I di in a potential challenging scenario. Quite a casual interview. They had decided to hire me before this took place.   1 Answer
