I have been working at Murphy Research full-time

Great training, supportive managers, high quality work, interesting projects and clients, fun and very smart colleagues, awesome work space, exciting business growth, willing to promote those who perform.

No cons. But you do need to be flexible, detail oriented, a good communicator, and passionate about market research.

    Research Associate (MN) Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Minneapolis, MN

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took 5+ months. I interviewed at Murphy Research (Minneapolis, MN) in January 2018.

Context: I am a highly motivated and very well seasoned scientific researcher (with an extremely strong resume to back it up. I have been seeking to inject creativity into my career by now pursuing a marketing angle in my research.

Phone interview: extremely personable and kind recruiter! My phone interview went very well from my humble perspective. Lasted 30min, but went by very fast because the recruiter made our interaction professional, but fun. I was told to wait two weeks while the recruiter brought my credentials to their team (two employees for now) in MN.

Within a week I was told: although my experience was impressive, due to the competitive nature of the job, they are going to go with someone else. But, if a more qualified candidate got the job, why is it still posted?

I believe I would have loved this job and offered more than the employer could have expected. It was a disapointment to find that my hopes

Honestly: Murphy is not looking to hire for this position right now and I don't know why it has been posted for about a half a year (on and off). "We are not in a rush to fill this position for at least the next 2 months." I invested massive amounts of hard work, time, and passion into applying for this position only to find that my extensive preparation and enthusiasm would amount to nothing due to the fact they are not ready to hire. New applicants should be aware of this.

I trust that I would have made an incredible addition to Murphy Research and would have exceeded the expectations of what good work is. I hope that there is an opportunity in the future for me with Murphy, but applying for this great looking role ended up being a real letdown.
