Our engineers work in cross-functional agile product-centric teams in close collaboration with designers & product owners to ship new features and products. Our infrastructure is cloud based and managed using infrastructure as code so we can spin up services with great levels of monitoring automatically. We ship systems to production through a robust Continuous Delivery pipeline ensuring that we build security and safety through automated tests and processes to build quality in from the start. With our small team, we’re proud to be a bank that ships into production more than 100 times a week! This enables us to iterate and ship new product safely and quickly.

I have been working at N26 full-time (Less than a year)
Small team in NYC working on bringing N26 to the US. Flat team structure (no bureaucracy or painful hierarchies). Open lines of communication and instant feedback loops. Everyone is extremely smart and driven towards a common goal, and we also enjoy each other's company both in and out of the office. There's also respect for having a life outside of work and a good sense of balance.
Huge opportunity to take on as much work as you can handle and drive your own workstreams and outputs. I've found that my scope of responsibilities is quite large, and since joining, I've broadened my skill-set significantly in areas I wanted to expand upon.
Coordination with Berlin can be difficult at times given time zones and hypergrowth there. Nonetheless, people always are willing to help out and make themselves available when needed.
Small team size as of now means fewer hands to help with all that needs to get done. That said - plenty of opportunity for new joiners to take on key tasks and responsibilities as we continue to grow the team
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at N26.
It took around 3 weeks in total, recruiter was very responsive throughout the process.
Started with an HR screening interview, covering mostly my job experience. It was followed by a code challenge which is not too difficult but requires a full weekend if you want to do it right. Next step was a technical interview including a small pair-programming session; a simple problem that didn't require knowledge about specific APIs outside core Java. Last step for me was a behavioral interview with the CTO. It was a nice talk with an former ThoughtWorks consultant who definitely seems to be a great leader to work with.
Overall it was a good experience but I have my doubts about the feedback which I think was very random. I feel like either they didn't want to disclose a real reason or they just look for people that have had the exact same problems that they did. Apart from this fact the process was good and I had a good impression of the folks working over there.
