In the 1920's, America fell in love with the automobile. More and more vehicles began traveling the roads, creating a need for an auto parts distribution system that could keep pace with the demand to keep our automobiles running. In 1925, NAPA was founded to meet those needs. Since then, we've sped our way to become a powerhouse in the auto parts industry. Fueled by the popularity of the automobile, our name can now be seen on over 6,000 parts stores, 58 distribution centers, and 15,000 NAPA AutoCare Centers across the country, and we're not stopping there.

Our Distribution Centers are the core of our world-famous distribution network. Our unequaled number of outlets allows us to provide incomparable overnight service to both our independent storeowners and company owned stores. The NAPA Spirit is felt nationwide, and it continues to spread. We currently have nearly six thousand stores and more than thirteen thousand NAPA AutoCare facilities, and those numbers are steadily rising.

NAPA Auto Parts Retail Stores

Everything we pride ourselves on as a company is fully represented in our stores, by each of our employees. Every aspect of our industry plays a major role each business day: Purchasing, distribution, marketing, merchandising, and customer service.

NAPA Auto Parts Stores are strategically important to us as we continue to evolve as a business. In the past, we mostly focused on the wholesale aspect of the parts business, but through improved locations and up-to-date presentation techniques, we are now trying to capture a larger share of the retail market.

Several job opportunities exist within our stores. Drivers deliver parts from the store to the end-use customer. Counter Persons assist customers on the phone and in-store, to ensure they leave with the right part from our 320,000-item inventory. Outside Salespeople represent one or more stores and call on customers within a three-mile radius of the store. Assistant Managers help the Store Manager ensure that the store exceeds customer expectations in every situation. Besides having opportunities for promotion to larger-volume stores, management employees can look forward to potential growth at the Regional or Divisional levels.

    I applied online. I interviewed at NAPA Auto Parts.


    This was an absolute joke to say the least. Waist of time. Upon receiving my resume, Jared Feichter emailed me about a job in Muncie, IN. and asked me to stop by the store and fill out an application, which I did. While there, I was told to give my resume to Troy, the assistant manager of the store. While waiting to give Troy my application, I overheard his entire phone call with Jared. He was told not to interview me but he asked me several questions anyway. When asked if I had any experience, I said not in a parts store but I was NEVER allowed to explain what my experience was. After a few questions, I was cut off and told that I would be called back for an interview with Jared. To this day, nobody has called, which is fine because after seeing how little the employees respected their manager and I saw how poorly trained their managers were, I want no part of it!

    What they didn't allow me to say was that I am capable of rebuilding engines from the ground up and I also am able to track wiring issues. As a matter of fact I know more about the inside of engine than most people. I know parts on a vehicles and I also can track electrical and electronic issues, the correct way. I don't really need the money but love to work and talk to people. This just gave me the nudge to open a new shop of my own and I began searching for space this week.

    This is the bottom of the barrel management and from what I hear, it doesn't pay well.
