Mission: We're SO much more than a Parts Store!
In the 1920's, America fell in love with the automobile. More and more vehicles began traveling the roads, creating a need for an auto parts distribution system that could keep pace with the demand to keep our automobiles running. In 1925, NAPA was founded to meet those needs. Since then, we've sped our way to become a powerhouse in the auto parts industry. Fueled by the popularity of the automobile, our name can now be seen on over 6,000 parts stores, 58 distribution centers, and 15,000 NAPA AutoCare Centers across the country, and we're not stopping there.
Our 90 years of experience has made us an industry leader, but don't let our age lead you to believe we can't keep up with the changing times. We're not your grandfather's NAPA. As our vehicles become more advanced, we've adapted our business in ways that allow us to stay ahead of the curve. We're constantly updating our inventory of over 400,000 items, opening new stores, reaching out to customers in new ways, and most importantly, we're hiring new talent to join our ranks.
It's an exciting time to join our team and we need people like you to help us accelerate our business into the future. Our growth depends on the dedication and enthusiasm of our employees. At NAPA, we want to continue to expand our presence, but at the heart of our business we just love automobiles. That's probably one of the reasons you're visiting this page. You share our passion to help customers, both retail and wholesale, keep their vehicles running. At NAPA, you'll be part a team that's building on an 90-year legacy of NAPA KNOW HOW, backed by the best employees in the world.
Our job isn't just to sell auto parts. It's also to grow the professional and personal lives of our employees. At NAPA, you aren't just along for the ride. You're part of a family that gives each other and our company the momentum to succeed. When you work at NAPA, you'll find that the opportunities to reach your highest potential are limitless, because we know that when our employees succeed, we've succeeded.
At NAPA, we firmly believe that the momentum we've built in the automotive industry is a direct result of our investment in our employees. To maintain the strength of our company and to drive our business, we want to make sure that we hire the best people, and give them the best career opportunities and experiences. As we speed off into the future, we want to make sure that our employees are right there with us. That's why we offer competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits to those who are eligible.
NAPA Headquarters is the central hub of all of our company's activity. The purpose of this complex is to provide direction and support to all field operations, thereby enabling our staff to exceed customer expectations in every situation. This group consists of 58 NAPA distribution centers serving approximately 5800 NAPA Auto Parts Stores of which 1,000 are company owned.
Our Distribution Centers are the core of our world-famous distribution network. Our unequaled number of outlets allows us to provide incomparable overnight service to both our independent storeowners and company owned stores. These centers receive daily shipments of merchandise from over 50 manufacturers throughout North America and the Caribbean.
The NAPA Spirit is felt nationwide, and it continues to spread. We currently have nearly six thousand stores and more than thirteen thousand NAPA AutoCare facilities, and those numbers are steadily rising.
NAPA Auto Parts Retail Stores
Everything we pride ourselves on as a company is fully represented in our stores, by each of our employees. Every aspect of our industry plays a major role each business day: Purchasing, distribution, marketing, merchandising, and customer service.
NAPA Auto Parts Stores are strategically important to us as we continue to evolve as a business. In the past, we mostly focused on the wholesale aspect of the parts business, but through improved locations and up-to-date presentation techniques, we are now trying to capture a larger share of the retail market.
Several job opportunities exist within our stores. Drivers deliver parts from the store to the end-use customer. Counter Persons assist customers on the phone and in-store, to ensure they leave with the right part from our 320,000-item inventory. Outside Salespeople represent one or more stores and call on customers within a three-mile radius of the store. Assistant Managers help the Store Manager ensure that the store exceeds customer expectations in every situation. Besides having opportunities for promotion to larger-volume stores, management employees can look forward to potential growth at the Regional or Divisional levels.
Thank you Veterans! NAPA is committed to supporting The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and to attracting and retaining Military Service Members and their families to the NAPA family. We know the competencies that are gained in the Military across all branches are a perfect fit for many of our NAPA careers. Come and check out our many opportunities available at NAPA. You have made us proud through your service. We would be proud to have you as an employee when you transition from the military to civilan work or as you seek out new career adventures!
I have been working at NAPA Auto Parts part-time (More than 3 years)
Great pay for a current college student. $17/hour pays for many things most college students cannot afford to do
working in the warehouse is hard work. some days we might move 20 pallets of break rotors which weighs in somewhere around 40,000 pounds. its hard to go study at the library after a full day of work.
Advice to Management
Currently looking into moving into their internship program. Currently am a business student so there are many openings for me in the future.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NAPA Auto Parts (Fresno, CA) in December 2016.
A lady called me we did a little bit of back and forth calling cause she left me voice message and I left her voice message. When I finally got a hold of her she ask me a few questions over the phone. She ask why I wanted to work at NAPA and ask why I thought I qualify for the Executive Management Trainee. Then she set up an interview date with me and told me the name of the person I will be interviewing with.
