Mission: NIMBL [Nim-bull] verb - Cultivate WE - Respectful - Embraces, Engages, Excels Change - Does The Right Things - Innovative, Passionate, Thought Leader - BaLances Life
I have been working at NIMBL full-time (Less than a year)
Hungry startup led by a bunch of really smart folks. Open, collaborative culture. Funky urban hip workspace. Young, with no 'we have always done it that way' naysayers. Practices are driven by true 'thought leaders' not just what is says on their business card. The technical focus is a big difference. All of SAP's more recent innovations are technical, so to stay on the forefront of what SAP is doing , you need to be technical. That being said there is also _no_ Offshore, near shore or any other cheap staffers on their projects.
I accepted a cut in compensation and benefits to be local and off the road. It was more of a cut than I would have liked, and there is still some road work, so I'm not real crazy about that. Being thought leaders means being on the bleeding edge. That means some pretty hard projects doing things that very few had done before. There is little structure, and a lot of decisions still fall on the founders and their inner circle.
Advice to Management
Keep your eyes and ears open. Keep moving in the direction you are going. We will do great things together.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NIMBL.
First an interview with the HR folks, then with the hiring manager and finally with the VP. (All by phone) And a last one onsite. Expenses for the onsite interview were all paid as it was for a relocation.
