I have been working at NPG Companies full-time (More than 3 years)
Family owned. Upper management is willing to listen to new ideas. Competitive in each market. Local news feels like the highest priority.
Can be very calculated with advances in technology, which can often result in being late to the game. Not afraid to cut a position if the duties can be split up or passed on to someone else (making employees often feel over-worked and under-paid).
Advice to Management
Low level employees often have skills that aren't being utilized. They often are where they are because they're waiting for the "job they want" to open up. Be real with those employees on their career goals. Help them get to where they want to be and the company will be rewarded by keeping great employees on board.
I applied online. I interviewed at NPG Companies (Saint Joseph, MO) in March 2017.
I met with a number of employees and they were all very friendly. However, they all seemed concerned about whether or not someone else had already asked the question they had. Seemed unorganized. People were nice, but the system was poorly structured.
