I worked at NTT full-time (More than 3 years)
Well funded, long term focus and goals, research oriented, cutting edge technology, business relationships with many other NTT group companies, mostly very high quality products
Reacts slowly to market changes, long term goals more important than short term success to an extreme degree, all decisions are made in Japan, career advancement is slow-paced, management are generalists not specialists.
Advice to Management
Listen to what the market is telling you, do not enter into contracts in business areas you do not understand, honest evaluation of products is crucial, every employee is responsible for quality, don't be afraid to train employees, selling products is very different than conducting research - employee feedback and direction from management is more important and should be more frequent.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at NTT.
A behavioral interview including over phone for 30 minutes. Talked with my supervisor who was going to work with me. We talked about my experiences related to the role.
