Do work that matters.
With people you respect.
In a location that works for you.

Work that matters

At National Life, you will help people believe in tomorrow.

Our vision is to bring peace of mind to everyone we touch. Since 1848, we've been there for families when the unthinkable has happened, and helped hard-working people retire with dignity. Be part of a growing, learning organization, where you drive your career and make an impact every day. It's more than a job, it's a calling.

People you respect

At National Life, growth isn’t just about numbers, it's about keeping promises—to our customers and each other. Our Servant Leadership culture emphasizes mutual respect and drives our values: Do good. Be good. Make good.

A location that works for you

At National Life, you can choose the rugged outdoors of Vermont or the urban energy of Dallas. Both campuses feature open, collaborative workspaces and wellness facilities.

Our Cause at National Life comes down to six words: Do good. Be good. Make good. Those are our corporate values and our touchstone.

We call it our Main Street approach and it's reflected in our Mission, Vision and Values.
It’s in Our

Mission: Keeping Our Promises.
It’s in Our Vision: To Bring Peace of Mind to Everyone We Touch.
It’s in Our Values: Do good. Be good. Make good.

Our Values are grounded in the lives of the people we serve, from Main Street businesses to hard-working families.

At our company, we don’t care how smart or bright someone is; if they don’t fit our culture, this is not the right place for them. Our culture is bigger than individuals; it is tangible and shows up at the top line, bottom line, and every measure in between.

We have a secret sauce, which is our culture. It’s reflected in the way we show up, and the way we care for our clients. That doesn’t mean we’re perfect. We are learning as we go, and we are getting better every day.

-Mehran Assadi, CEO of National Life Group

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at National Life Group (Burlington, VT) in March 2012.

    Interview

The process was well planned and clear. They provided an agenda, made arrangements for lodging and the site was comfortable and amendable to the interview process. There is nothing more I would add.

    Interview Questions

    • They didn't ask many questions other than the basics. The interviewers did most of the talking -primarily telling me how lucky one would be to work at National Life. They would have benefited from a more structured interview containing targeted behavioral questions.   Answer Question
