I worked at National School Boards Association full-time (Less than a year)
There are some progressive policies, like the 35 hour work week. It's a great place for work-life balance and people are generally friendly.
There are also some regressive policies, like no como time for working weekends. It's a pretty hierarchical organization that is pretty top-heavy.
Advice to Management
Flatten the org structure and don't treat lower employees like they have less to contribute. Invest in your staff with more PD and leadership opportunities.
