Environment is fast-paced and challenging. Every day is different. Great people solving tough problems on a daily basis.
Pay and benefits are on the wrong side of the bell curve. Don't get the resources needed in a timely manner. A lot of micromanagement from the executive level.
Advice to Management
Focus on the vision and long-term direction of the company rather than looking at quarterly or monthly earnings numbers. Empower the people to actually solve problems rather than hand-cuff them with restrictive policies. Stop asking how you can get 5 more cents out of a quarter and start asking how you can get more quarters in your pocket.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at National Technical Systems in May 2014.
They flew me out here for my interview at the companies expense. They payed for my rental car. They payed for my hotel and food for the weekend. They were friendly, straight forward, and specific in what they were looking for. They gave me a tour of the facility. I met with the technical staff and was able to see some of the first hand challenges I was going to be faced with
