I worked at Nature Publishing Group full-time
Great team of professionals - it was a joy to work with Nature editors
Reasonable working hours
Access to Lynda courses
Quite poor IT support: it can take ages to get a new keyboard or software update
My salary was at the market rate
Advice to Management
Although cross-functional communications in NPG are quite good, it may be worth to review how projects are run. A centre of excellence may help to share the best practices in project management.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Nature Publishing Group (New York, NY) in March 2015.
It was a long-winded process, with about a month between the first and second interview. It was pretty standard stuff. They are in the midst of a merger right now and they were very good about being up front with the information that they had regarding the merger process, which was very little, but I liked that they were transparent.
