I worked at Need Supply as an intern (More than a year)
Very laid back, everyone is encouraged to come as they are and to be comfortable there.
Flexible in terms of taking time off, leaving early if necessary, etc.
Small company, almost everyone knows everyone.
Every single week there is a company-wide video chat, you can actually talk to the CEO if you need/want to here.
Focused on being agile.
Focused on using analytics to constantly improve, and to improve upon things before it even seems necessary to make them better.
Employee discount on full-price items!
Occasionally felt under-utilized as an intern.
Unpaid Internship. I understand this isn't out of the ordinary but it would have been nice to be paid!
Advice to Management
Try to hire interns early on in the season if possible. I accepted a summer position but wasn't brought on until early July and could only stay until the end of August, and I could have been there to assist earlier on in the summer had the position been opened up sooner.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Need Supply (Richmond, VA).
Very short, which almost made me feel like the employer had quickly decided against going any further for the interview. In hindsight, I think it just went fairly well and there wasn't necessarily that much more to discuss.
