I worked at New Century NcStar full-time (More than 3 years)

NcSTAR is one of the best companies I've worked for. It's your typical small business office work regardless of what role you're in. If you're in sales, you're making calls. If you're in shipping, you're working with freight brokers and the warehouse preparing orders. All straightforward, your job is your job. The best thing about NcStar was the people. No one wants to go to work every day, but the employees are so close knit and friendly that it makes everyone's time a lot more bearable. Easily some of the best people I've had the pleasure to work with. The owner genuinely cares about the well-being of the employees and wants the business to succeed. He can be tough to deal with at times but it's genuinely because he cares - to me, that's a valuable trait in a boss. The company benefits are awesome, up there with high profile companies and only lacks a classic retirement plan like 401k / IRA etc. I would work here again in a heartbeat.

Office is somewhat old school. If you're 2 minutes late, expect to hear about it. No flex time or working from home here, but you also won't be taking calls at 9 PM. Once the day's done, it's rare to get a call after you clock out. Vacation time could be a little more generous but it's not terrible. I don't really consider this a con - but this isn't a laid back job. Expect to work, expect to be thorough and detailed because if you're not, it will come back to you. Not a lot of room for growth here, at least not in the short term. If the company remains profitable, I can see some expansion happening but don't expect to start here and immediately climb the corporate ladder.
