I worked at New York Language Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's been a real pleasure working for this wonderful company - New York Language Center. Every single employee at NYLC is reaching for the same goal, which is giving one-of-a-kind education. While working at this place I truly felt like I was a part of something big and important. It was so nice to be treated fairly in all aspects. Working for NYLC always felt like being a part of a big family. I would have still been working at New York Language Center if I didn't choose to relocate.

    Cons

I was completely satisfied with this workplace.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at New York Language Center (New York, NY) in July 2017.

    Interview

They pretty much hired me on the spot. They were in urgent need to find somebody quickly so It was more like I am doing them a favor. I was briefly asked about my teaching experience. The rest was about their rules and signing documents.

    Interview Questions

    • I was asked briefly about my experience. They were in need to fill the position fast. What was unprofessional is that they didn't say what the pay was, only after I was in the process of signing documents. I see it as deliberate attempt to hide the truth that it is embarrassingly low. It was mostly about me being told about their procedures and rules and signing documentations. Again, the fact that they don't pay for outside classroom preparation and grading the required weekly assessments was conveniently omitted by them.   1 Answer
