Mission: At Nextep, our employees work every day to elevate the employment experience and enrich people’s lives. We take that endeavor seriously and extend that spirit of enrichment to business owners, their employees, and each other.
Our dedication to using technology to enhance customer service paid off this year, earning Nextep The Future Now Award. Read all about it!
At Nextep, we understand the importance of family and personal time. That's why we've implemented a new policy that includes paid maternity leave, paternity leave, elder care, extended bereavement, and allows for flexible scheduling.
Our people are our most important asset and we appreciate the important roles they fill, both at work and at home.
I left a publicly-traded PEO in 1996 with a dream of doing it differently. My goal was to give my clients the best of both worlds; the benefits and state-of-the-art technology that large companies have to offer, and the personal service and flexibility that smaller companies deliver. We’ve grown over the years, and we’ll continue to grow, but I’ve never lost sight of that dream. It’s still what I’m passionate about today.
– Brian Fayak
In the summer of 1996, Fayak migrated from the world of a publicly-traded company to a world where he was a one-man organization: the operations team, the sales team, and the owner.
Since those humble beginnings, Nextep has grown to be one of the premier professional employer organizations in the industry, with clients across the country.
Today, Nextep continually performs above industry averages in client retention, and still maintains the entrepreneurial spirit that drove our company from the start. We are exceptionally gratified to have the opportunity to work on an intimate level with business owners who are pursuing their dreams.
In sales, you have the opportunity to meet with entrepreneurs and business owners, hear their struggles and successes, and strategize to help their companies not only survive, but thrive by partnering with Nextep.
You can make a real difference for a business owner and his or her employees.
Whether a seasoned professional or new in your career, Nextep’s support, training, and resources for our salespeople is unparalleled.
Our most successful business consultants are highly organized, value constructive feedback, and have the hunger to find, nurture, and close new business opportunities. You will be part of a supportive team that celebrates each others’ success and has the drive to consistently exceed goals.
Your success is highly valued and rewarded. As a salesperson, you have the opportunity to earn uncapped residual commission for the life of the client relationship, an annual President’s Club trip for you and a guest when you meet your yearly goal, and get access to unparalleled marketing support to drive demand.

Our corporate headquarters are designed with our employees' ultimate comfort and productivity in mind. We're passionate about being a great place to work, all the way from our company's culture to the coffee we drink.
We realize it’s a lofty statement, but it serves as our compass. It drives every business decision we make, every phone call we answer, and every employee we hire.
At the core of our business is our people.
Whether clients, employees, or even our vendors, we’re passionate about enriching people’s lives. Our purpose at Nextep is to serve our people’s needs ahead of our own; to position them for greatness.
What you see is what you get. From billing to internal meetings, we’re committed to deserving the trust you place in us. Integrity and honesty are integral to our culture; we expect it from our employees and we exhibit it every day in our business practices.
Nextep was built on entrepreneurial drive and enthusiasm. We embrace change and thrive on our ability to take quick action. We want less red tape and more changes that matter. Our ambitious beginning reminds us that we all have a stake in the business’s success.

We offer an extremely generous and competitive benefits package. Nextep pays 100% of family coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance, sponsors life insurance, and offers 401(k) matching.
Paid time off, birthday holidays, and Nextep-sponsored charitable services are just another benefit, giving you peace of mind and a chance to give back to the community.
We're committed to your career development, and offer extensive training programs, customer service refreshers, sponsorship of trade association membership and meetings, and opportunities for advancement.
These are just a few of the perks of working with Nextep:
I have been working at Nextep full-time (More than a year)
Nextep is THE BEST place to work. I've worked for several companies in sales roles and nothing compares to this place. The energy, excitement, growth and fun this company exudes is incredible. There is opportunity around every corner. The level of support the sales team receives from every department is exceptional. We are given the tools, technology and training to be successful in our roles. Upper management listens to their employees. It is so exciting working for a company that actually cares about what's best for the client as well. The recent development of the Nextep Cares Foundation is even more reason to love this company. If you want to work with an organization that is putting the best products and services out there and cares about it's clients and it's employees and you also want the opportunity to advance quickly within a sale organization then this is the place to be, no doubt! Employees are engaged and excited and that really reflects in everything that goes on here.
There are no cons.
Advice to Management
Please keep doing what you're doing and listen to your employees.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nextep (Denver, CO) in April 2015.
Had an interview with Recruiter over the phone. On a different day I had a Video interview where I recorded my answer to questions via Video. A week later I interviewed with the local RSM. And finally I had flown to Corporate in Norman Oklahoma and had 2 separate interviews. HR,Marketing and then Senior management VP, Operations. The Recruiter is awesome and so are the HR and Marketing folks but the senior Management have huge EGO issues. They did not set up expectations well for the training process and as a result the senior management were very passive aggressive in their interactions with me. Micro Managers.
