I was a cardiovascular ICU nurse at Broward Health and I absolutely enjoyed my time working in this unit. The manager is fantastic, supportive and all around great person to work for. I would have stayed there if I was not moving out of state. It was a great teamwork atmosphere in a very fast paced, high intensity environment. I learned so much working with wonderful people around me and I would definitely come back to Broward Health to work with the CV-ICU team again.
I think every hospital is dealing with the same issues and downs with our ever-changing health care system here in the U.S. At least, you could deal with those cons with a great team by your side in the CV-ICU at Broward Health.
Advice to Management
I think upper management needs to realize what a great team of nurses that he has especially in CV-ICU and compensate accordingly in order to compete with other hospitals in South Florida.
I applied online. I interviewed at North Broward Hospital District.
Fairly strait forward, application, interview, job offer. I met with a panel of two administrators and the department manager. The interview was around 40 minutes. I was offered a position at that time.
