I have been working at Northern Trust full-time (Less than a year)
Decent pay, great company overall, good benefits, nice coworkers
Work life balance so far is terrible in this department. Lots of having to stay after work, and even having to work on major holidays (like Thanksgiving) when the company is closed. Management did not inform me upfront that I would be required to constantly work beyond my normal shift, and more importantly on major holidays. Also, systems are very manual and are extremely outdated. If it weren't for those items this company would be great.
Advice to Management
Please only hire managers/team leads that are at least proficient within the roles they will be managing. Notify candidates upfront that they'll be required to work on the major holidays.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Northern Trust (Chicago, IL).
Took about 4 weeks. Was relatively easy. I talked to the manager. Then I met with different people from the team and got to ask one on on questions. I also met with the HR coordinator to talk about benefits.
