I worked at Northwest Security Services full-time

    Pros

NWSS is a really great place to work! The staff is friendly and dedicated to it's employee's success. The work is hard, but it is rewarding. I've seen other companies treat their security officers with disdain - NWSS really cares about it's officers. While there is a lot to learn up front, the work can become predictable, which makes the work enjoyable, especially when you're going to school. It's a great workout! Climbing stairs, unlocking/locking doors, assisting people; it's definitely a job of serving people. Also, it's very nice to get overtime, to help pay the bills. NWSS has that available in my experience.

    Cons

I don't think their are really any cons of the job; though you can get pretty tired/bored. I got through this by counting ceiling tiles and checking every door very well, making a game out of it. It this busy world, sometimes the silence is golden. It's always refreshing to meet people though, and help them!

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, and do not stray from your ideals! NWSS is the #1 local security company in the area for a reason.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northwest Security Services (Shoreline, WA) in June 2014.

    Interview

Went to fill out application was interviewed on the spot and walked out with job!!! The hr woman was friendly and funny. There was a short test very easy and you do have to attend training and pass a drug test.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

They do offer raises after your probation is up. But with it almost always available you won't be hurting for money with this company.
