I have been working at Notre Dame de Namur full-time (More than 3 years)
Smart and hardworking colleagues. The location is beautiful, a natural environment within a city and on the northern end of Silicon Valley. Good work/life balance.
There are good and bad elements of benefits. The medical plan is costly if you insure family members or partners. Time off is generous. Salary/pay is low for the region. There are faculty who feel entitled to higher pay and share negative attitudes because of it.
Advice to Management
I feel that management is doing the best they can to ensure long-term health and stability for the university. That said, they need to provide regular salary increases commensurate with performance. A performance based salary structure is fair.
I applied online. I interviewed at Notre Dame de Namur (Athens, OH) in March 2017.
It was a phone interview with a panel of interviewers (5 people). One person moderated the session and provided a description of the position and the interview process. The panel then took turns introducing themselves and asking questions. At the end I was given the opportunity to ask questions of my own.
