Nu Look Home Design – Why Work For Us?

After running away with the prestigious Better Business Bureau's 2013 Torch Award, Nu Look Home Design has exploded into the marketplace as one of the most highly sought after places to work in the Mid-Atlantic region for talented professionals seeking to launch an exciting new career.

NLHD is a Sales & Marketing powerhouse that has distinguished itself as a major player in the exterior remodeling industry. More importantly, we pride ourselves in knowing that you will look forward to being challenged every day as a valued member of our team. In a high energy atmosphere, NLHD will graciously provide you with the tools to sharpen your professional skills and the potential to earn what you might have thought was out of reach, until today.

We believe a company’s success is defined by its employee’s willingness to support its core value, ethical standard and company mission. It is with this understanding that we nurture the company-employee relationship through an internal belief system that employee happiness is attained from a few simple, yet often neglected principles:

  • Treat them kind.
  • Train them well.
  • Reward them often.

Treat them kind

We create an environment where employees feel confident enough to share their ideas and provide feedback. This leads to an invaluable relationship between company and employee where thought and suggestion is encouraged, and opinions are voiced free from judgment. We learn from mistakes, are not afraid to make them, and are coached on how to prevent them.

Success breeds success and winning as a team translates into celebrating as a team at NLHD! Corporate events and memorable vacations are just a few ways that we get it done together. But we take it one step further. We know how important your family is to your success, which is why we encourage you to bring them along for the ride!

Train them well

It is no surprise when walking our halls to see a Vice President mentoring a marketing professional, or an entry-level salesperson educating the CEO. Never being too wise to teach or too experienced to learn is a philosophy inherent within all departments. In collaboration with cooperative and continuous training, outside education, as well as a peer mentoring program; we foster strength through intelligence and confidence.

Reward them often

Recognition comes in several forms… a large bonus, a trophy or plaque, a trip or a dinner, a letter of appreciation or a simple thank you. It is our belief that any recognition, no matter how extravagant or simple, is always valued. While public recognition among your peers is rewarding, let us not forget that a simple thank you in a hallway or at the lunch table is also cherished.

I have been working at Nu Look Home Design full-time (Less than a year)

The company truly values their employees, they are always recognizing hard work and achievements. There is also so much growth potential, if you're a valued employee they truly want you to stay and grow with the company and they give you the tools to achieve it. When I took the job I was nervous about working a commission job but I love it, you get paid what you're worth to the company, so the more you put in the more you get back.

Canvassing isn't for everyone. You need to be self motivated and be able to keep a positive mindset even when things aren't going your way or when you encounter rude people. If you can't say that about yourself you will fail. But as long as you want to do well there are so many people willing to help you and help you succeed.
The benefits package could be better, but I know they are working on it.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! Communication between departments (telemarketing, marketing, and sales) is crucial, but I've seen how everyone is trying to come together to work out the bugs in the system.
Also the benefits aren't all that great, so that might help with retention.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Nu Look Home Design (Glen Burnie, MD) in January 2016.

It was a no pressure experience. I felt like I was conversing with a friend. I enjoyed the laughs along with the serious conversation. It helped ease the anxiety during an interview. The management gave great descriptions of the job, so you knew what you were looking to get into.
