The NuVasive Spine Foundation is dedicated to providing life-changing spine surgery to individuals in disadvantaged communities across the globe, and advancing spine surgery technology in these communities by training local surgeons.

Since its inception in 2009, the NuVasive Spine Foundation has been focused on:

    Pros

    Fastest and most strategically aggressive medical device company I know - never bogged down by bureaucracy, shortcomings, etc.
    Incredibly strong company culture of driving innovation through Shareowner ownership
    Onboarding experience is awesome - Spine Exam, cadaver lab surgery gets all Shareowners on the same page
    Tons of events with food and drinks
    Free snacks and fruit everywhere
    Flexible time off policy for exempt Shareowners
    Access to the gym and fitness classes with trainers
    Working to do awesome things with innovative technology to improve lives with spine surgery
    Management is incredibly open and care about their shareowners

    Cons

    Disorganization sometimes occurs in the shuffle

    Application

    I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NuVasive (San Diego, CA) in December 2017.

    Interview

    In depth and rigorous interview process that took around 4.5 hours with various members from different departments. 15 min breaks were given in between each interview. Interviews focused more on personality fit for the team and individual's method or approach on organization, collaboration, and process on projects involving a few different departments. The interviews themselves were not very difficult, but jumping from one interview to the next (5 different people) was a somewhat intense. This was the longest interviewing process I had gone through. I appreciated the thoroughness of the entire process.
