Performance is paramount. Politics and "yes" men/women need not apply. Everyone has a clear set of responsibilities and is rewarded for accomplishing and exceeding expectations.
Small company, which isn't a negative and and of itself, but resources (money, people) are limited and sometimes changes is a bit slow to come.
Advice to Management
Find a way to increase market share and/or generate revenue to the degree that a bit more investment can be made in resources, particularly marketing and development. I feel like we're in an excellent position to truly seize our market if we can get a bit further ahead of the curve.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6+ weeks. I interviewed at Numara Software.
I was contacted by a recruiter and heavily recruited for an interview. I arrived for a 1/2 day interview and submitted to 4 groups. Division head, 2 groups of developers, and HR. The developer questions were generally good, they were more in the line of assessment and not so much trivia. The division head was friendly and polite. The HR interview was a bit taxing, she clearly felt more like talking about her job. There was no communication between interviews.
I gave a high offer as I had a position. They gave a reasonable counter offer.
