Mission: Nuna’s mission is to increase accountability in the U.S. healthcare system through value-based care.
Nuna is a healthcare technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Our mission is to help make high-quality healthcare affordable and accessible for everyone. We do this by building data solutions for healthcare payers and providers to measure and improve their cost and quality outcomes.
Nuna was the natural evolution of Jini’s family’s struggles with the healthcare system and experience with Medicaid. In 2015, we built Medicaid’s first centralized data warehouse, which stores records for over 74.5 million enrollees across the United States. Since then, we’ve expanded our product lines and our team.
Today, we partner with state and federal government agencies, health plans, and provider systems to turn data into insights. Every solution we provide is designed to overcome core obstacles in healthcare—fragmented data, inefficient processes, misaligned incentives, and inconsistent cost and quality information.
At Nuna, we share a passion for improving the quality and cost of healthcare in America. Together, we’re helping industry decision-makers answer hard questions and make a difference in people’s lives.
The issues we’re tackling in healthcare are complicated—and we can’t succeed as a team without working together. We all win when we collaborate, whether across departments, job functions, or time zones.
While each person makes a unique contribution to Nuna, we share a common set of values that shape our work and relationships.
...work through curiosity...
We’re eternal learners, working alongside our partners to find new paths to success.
...with commitment and excellence...
We deliver on our promises to our partners and to each other.
...from a place of compassion...
We believe that everyone we work with is a person worthy of respect and understanding.
...to make a real impact.
We approach every project with purpose, whether it’s for our partners or our team.
I have been working at Nuna full-time (More than 3 years)
Terrific team, using scale data to make value-based care affordable for millions. Trusted by partners - insurers, state and fed leaders - and yes providers. A great place for engineers, data scientists, innovators to learn/contribute.
Ambitious agenda, a lot of work!
Advice to Management
Keep recruiting outstanding talent. Stay hungry, scrappy and focused on happy customers and healthy Americans. And make value-based care succeed.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nuna (San Francisco, CA) in August 2018.
Recruiting team reached out after my application to do the initial screen and later setup the first call with the Engineering Manager. I was unable to make this interview due to being oncall but they were very understanding of the situation and was able to get it rescheduled.
Had amazing conversations with both direct supervisors/managers for the role. The questions were very clear and well thought out. Next, invited for a half day on-site interview. Travel accommodations were great and even had a really good meal per diem.
The on-site interview included a programming challenge as well as architecture / design interviews with a team lunch in between. The interviews were definitely challenging but we're very close to real situations.
Received and accepted an offer a few days later. Overall a 5 star experience, one of the best recruitment processes I have been through!
